Temperature sensor board for use with PT100 Resistive Temperature Detector (RTD) probes. It uses a precision instrumentation circuit which can achieve high accuracy and measurement resolution for a temperature range of -200ºC to +800ºC. This precision is attainable with a single point calibration.
Readings are fetched from the sensor using a SPI™ serial interface. The interface wiring can be set-up with three or two wires depending on the acquisition mode. For details check the board data sheet available for download bellow.
The wide range of temperatures supported by the sensor, and the variety of PT100 probes in the market, makes it suitable for many applications. This same board can be used with a high-speed and precise PT100 probe in specialized laboratory applications or with a robust probe for Industrial high temperature without compromising performance. Additionally the sensor output is digitalized by a 22 bit resolution ADC allowing for remote sensing applications even in high noise environments.
TS100 sensor employs a simple calibration process using an in-board precision resistor which allows the user to perform the calibration without requiring any external reference. A calibration procedure is described in the board data sheet.
To speedup the development phase we provide example source code files in C language. The source code is for the PIC24FJ128GB202 microcontroller, which is used in the YKAMELEAN24 board, and is available for download bellow. This source code is also used as an add-on module library in the YKAMELEAN24 firmware.
